- Los Angeles (Westchester /LAX area): Environmental Change-Makers of Los Angeles (hey, that's us!) - monthly meetings, speakers, events
- Los Angeles: Los Angeles Eco Village - tours, speakers.
- Pasadena: Path To Freedom urban homestead - hosts monthly movies, speakers and events. Get on their email list to receive calendar information.
- Santa Barbara: Santa Barbara Permaculture Network - workshops, speakers, movies, events. They bring speakers in on tour from around the world, and often schedule these speakers for short Santa Monica appearances just prior to the main Santa Barbara appearance dates. - Culver City: LA Green Drinks - monthly gathering "for anyone concerned about environmental issues to get together over a drink" Culver City is 1st Thursday of every month.
- Hermosa Beach: Hermosa Verde (new) - "Our organization was born out of Hermosa Beach's signing on to the Sierra Club's Cool Cities program to reduce our city's emissions." Kickoff meeting April 28, 2007
- Hermosa Beach - LA Green Drinks - monthly gathering "for anyone concerned about environmental issues to get together over a drink" Hermosa Beach is 2nd Thursday of every month.
- Los Angeles: Los Angeles Eco Village - tours, speakers.
- Los Angeles (Los Feliz area): Eco-Home Network
- Los Angeles (South Robertson): the South Robertson Neighborhood Council includes a "Green Team" and does periodic cleanups, tree plantings, etc. Their website is mostly under construction, but you can access phone numbers for contact people via www.soronc.org "contact us"

- Santa Monica: SMC Center for Environmental and Urban Studies includes an Eco-Action Club and an email loop of local environmental announcements
- Silver Lake: LA Green Drinks - monthly gathering "for anyone concerned about environmental issues to get together over a drink" Silver Lake is 3rd Thursday of every month.
- Valley: LA Green Drinks (new) - monthly gathering "for anyone concerned about environmental issues to get together over a drink" Valley is 4th Thursday of every month.

- Ballona Stewards - Community Clean-up and Restoration of Ballona Northeast, the second Saturday of each month.
- Heal The Bay - Monthly beach cleanups.
- Los Angeles River Watershed Council - Their calendar lists many area-wide events related to the Ballona watershed, including Friends of the LA River events. Some of these listings are clean-up events, others are committees directing restoration efforts.
- TreePeople - Their calendar includes volunteer opportunities for tree plantings and tree maintenance around our city.

| Criteria we use for considering which groups to list include: recommendation by one of our regularly-attending members; local and/or community action focus; meetings/gatherings (as contrasted with blogs or classes); positive solutions focus. We typically do not list for-profit organizations. |
