Rather it will be used to defray the costs of producing the conference. We will accept a limited number of work/study arrangements; please contact us if the tuition is beyond your reach. |
| Prerequisite reading: With the Life Beyond Oil conference, we are embarking on a journey. This conference is not intended as a mere one-day entertainment. It is intended as the beginning of a transformative process, upon which rests the security of our urban future. Our mainstream society has ill-prepared us to consider the concept of Life After Oil. Thus we ask that you do some homework to orient yourself into these power-down ideas. At a minimum, please complete the Prerequisite list (3 items, online at www.EnviroChangeMakers.org/TTLA.htm ). It would be great if you could read a few of the other items suggested prior to the conference. |
Books: A limited number of copies of Rob Hopkins’ The Transition Handbook are available via the Environmental Change-Makers. This fascinating look at “What We Can Do” to prepare our neighborhoods for a power-down future is wonderful reading going into this conference series. Copies may be purchased for our cost of approximately $33 (actual price depends on final exchange rate) at meetings of the Environmental Change-Makers (see our calendar at www.EnviroChangeMakers.org) or at the Holy Nativity office any time the office is open (call 310-670-4777 to check hours). Regrettably, we cannot mail you a copy. |
